ABW for Years 7 & 8

Introduction

This Program offers students, their parents, teachers and the community the opportunity to participate in an innovative enterprise education unit. The program introduces students to enterprise education through an intensive learning experience. The program was developed for middle school students to bridge the transition from primary to high school.

The program is flexible in delivery. It can involve a single class or a whole cohort. It has been designed to assist schools in determining the program delivery structure which is best suited to their demands on time and the differing learning needs of their students.

ABW PhotoSchools can devise whatever variations are necessary to meet their own needs.

Through the program students acquire practical knowledge and develop self worth, community responsibility, a work ethic and respect for others. Students identify areas they excel at and set personal goals for future development.

This approach to learning develops in students the mind set and the skills necessary to recognise opportunity, to manage risk, and to mobilise and manage resources for social as well as economic purpose. Students become enterprising and learn to see problems as opportunities, take initiative, persevere, be flexible and work well in teams. Students apply a wide range of skills, explore their own attitudes and values and become more aware of their own qualities.
