Primary School program

Primary school aged children can gain a great deal of confidence and knowledge from enterprise education. Our programs suit children from kindergarten age up.

The program

Students undertake the ABW Sandwich Shop simulation as part of a hands-on enterprise education program run over one or more weeks. Delivery of the program is flexible and it can accommodate a single class, or the entire school.

Student tasks

Students experience a broad range of tasks that help them to develop important skills. Tasks are varied and tailored to suit the ages of participants. They may include;

  • Take over an enterprise
  • Run a computer simulation
  • Organise and hold a market day
  • Assume the role of employee or employer
  • Operate a bank, making deposits and withdrawals
  • Run a warehouse
  • Develop a CV, listing skills and capabilities
  • Stand for parliament
  • Develop legislation

The ABW program for secondary students is an intensive but enjoyable experiential learning experience over one or more weeks that complement the students’ regular curriculum.

The ABW tertiary program allows students to operate a virtual business, make decisions and mistakes, compete against their peers, and learn a range of skills that will serve them well in their chosen career.

Help primary students to develop team skills, self-worth, a work ethic, respect for others and a sense of community responsibility. Our enterprise programs allow them to learn about themselves and the adult world around them in an exciting hands-on way.
